AN ORDINANCE LFVYING TAXES FOR. THE USE AND
SUPPORT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE
CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING FOR.
THE WATER WORKS SYSTEM BOND AND INTEREST
RETIREMENT FUND, SERIES 1952, AND THE WATER
WORKS SYSTEM BOND AND INTEREST RET
FUND, SERIES 1955, FOR THE YEAR 1958;
APPORTIONING EACH LEVY FOR TEE SPECIFIC
PURPOSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That there is hereby levied and there
shall be collected for the use and support of the municipal
government o.f the City of Kennedale, Texas, and to provide
an interest and sinking fund for the retirement of City of
Kennedale Water Works System Bonds, Series 1952, and City
of Kennedale Water Works System Bonds, Series 1955, upon
all property, real, personal and mixed, within the corporate
limits of the said City of Kennedale subject to taxation,
a tax of Seventy-five Cents (750) on each One Hundred and
no/100 Dollars (8100.00) valuation of property for the
year 1958, said tax being so levied and apportioned for
the purposes herein set forth:
(a) For the maintenance and support of the
General Government (General Fund): Twenty-
eight Cents (28$) on each One Hundred Dollars
$100.00) valuation of property.
Co) For the City of Kennedale Water Works
System Bonds, Series 1952, Interest and
Sinking Fund: Thirty-two Cents (320) on each
One Hundred Dollars (8100.00) valuation
of property.
(c) For the City of Kennedale Water Works
System Bonds, Series 1955, Interest and.
Sinking Fund: Fifteen Cents (150) on each
One Hundred Dollars (0100.00) valuation of
property.
Sectinn 2. There is hereby levied and there
shall be collected from every person, firm, association
or corporation pursultg any occupation taxed by the
General Laws of the State of Texas, an annual occupation
tax equal in each instance to One -Half of the State
occupation tax, which said taxes shall be paid annually
in advance except where otherwise provided by State law,
in which event same shall be paid as is provided by State
law; which occupation taxes are hereby appropriated to
the maintenance and support of the General Municipal
Government (General Fund).
Section 3. All monies collected under this
ordinance are hereby appropriated and set apart for the
purposes indicated, and the City Secretary and Tax Assessor -
Collector shall keep accounts so as to readily and dis-
tinctly show the amount collected, the amount expended and
the amount on hand at any time, in each said funds, and it
is hereby made the duty of the Tax Assessor -Collector and
every person collecting money for the City of Kennedale,
to deliver to the City Secretary, at the time of depositing
any monies, a statement showing to what fund such deposit
should be made and from what source received. All receipts
for the City not specifically apportioned by this ordinance
are hereby made payable to the General Fund of the City, un-
less the City Council shall by resolution or ordinance other-
wise direct.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and
be in full force from and after its passage.
