WORKSHOP -NOVEMBER 11, 1999

Mayor Wright called the workshop to order at 6:45 p.m.

Members present: Mayor Wright, Councilmembers Clark, Hoover, and Barrett. Councilmember
Kovach arrived at 6:47 p.m.
Members absent: Councimember Vaughn.
Staff present: Ted Rowe and Kathy Turner.
ITEM NO. 1-Workshop with Callahan & Associates reviewing plans for new municipal
building.
Mr. Chuck Freeman with Callahan & Associates updated Council on the status of the new
municipal building. During his presentation he briefed on the zoning conditions for heat and air,
audio system for counciUcourt chamber, and lighting fixtures and location of such. He also stated
that piers were going to be needed due to the characteristics of the soil, as well as, one foot of fill.
Mr. Freeman also mentioned that the library floor plans were ready for review, and he would be
getting in touch with staff to schedule this.
Next, Mr. Freeman presented Council with an artist rendering of the project. Minor changes were
still needed, but Mr. Freeman wanted Council to view it to have an idea of what was expected.
ITEM NO. 2 -Discussion with Graphic Consultant regarding city logo.
It was noted that Mr. Ted Davidson, and Mr. Steve Davidson were not able to attend the meeting,
but would like to schedule a workshop the following week to view the proposed city logos.
ITEM NO. 3 -General discussion.
Council was briefed on the allocation of phone lines to Southwestern Bell and it was noted that a
special meeting would be necessary if the required information was received so Council could act
on the allocation.
Council scheduled a special meeting for Wednesday, November 17, 1999 at 6:30 p.m. to be held
in the Kennedale Police Department.
Mayor Wright spoke about the Regional Transportation Council meeting scheduled for Thursday,
November 18, 1999, and encouraged Council to attend.
No other discussion, Mayor Wright adjourned the workshop at 7:25 p.m.
