AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TARRANT COUNTY
TEXAS AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID
CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED
PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTING TO
SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL FUTURE INHABITANTS OF
SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF
OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID FUTURE INHABITANTS
BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF THE SAID CITY.
WHEREAS, a petition for annexation has been duly signed
and acknowledged by each and every person or corporation
having an interest in the following described territory, to-
wit:

WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacent
to the City of Kennedale, Texas, and is not more than one -
half (�) mile in width, and
WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City Council
on the 13 day of May 1985, such date being
not less than 5 and not more than 90'days from the date
hereof, and
WHEREAS, after hearing such petition and the arguments
for and against the same the City Council has voted to grant
such petition and to annex said territory to the City
Kennedale, Texas;
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the
City of Kennedale, Texas:
That the following described property, to -wit: (See
attached Exhibit A) be and the same is hereby annexed to the
City of Kennedale, Tarrant County, Texas, and that the
boundary limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, be and the
same are hereby extended to include the above described
territory within the city limits of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, and the same shall hereafter be included within the
territorial limits of said city, and said land and the future
inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all rights
and privileges of other citizens of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said
city.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to file with the
County Clerk of Kennedale, Texas a certified copy of this
ordinance.

EXIHIBIT A
BEING a 2.932 acre tract of land situated in the DAVID STRICKLAND
SURVEY, Abstract N. 1376 and the M. F. LAMAR SURVEY, Abstract N. 987
and being a part of a called 25 Acre Tract conveyed to Dee Shytles
by Margaret Post by deed, dated November 13, 1935, as shown of record
in 'Volume 1274, Page 59 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County,
Texas, and being more particularly described by metes and bounds as
follows:
BEGINNING at a 60d nail set for corner in the center of County Road
No. 2013 (Little Road). Said point being approximately 1217.1 feet
North and 448.7 feet East of the Southeast corner of the DAVID
STRICKLAND SURVEY;
THENCE: North a distance of 176.65 feet to a steel POST for corner
in the existing West line of said Little Road;
THENCE: North 89 degrees, 39 minutes, 23 seconds West, a distance
of 732.80 .feet to a steel rod set for corner;
THENCE: South.00 degrees, 00 minutes, 05 seconds East, a distance
of 172.00 Feet to a 60d nail set for corner. Said point being in the
center of a 50 foot private driveway easement;
THENCE: South 89 degrees, 17 minutes, 35 seconds East along the center line
of said easement, a distance of 732.84 feet to the PLACE OF BEGINNING
and containing 2.932 acres or 127,742.35 Square feet of land, more or

Dear Ms. Turner:
This refers to 14 annexations (Ordinance Nos. 72 -13, 74 -3
74 -8, 81 -13, 82 -10, 83 -8, 84 -11, 85 -18, 85 -19, 85 -28 (as
corrected by 87 -7), 86 -5 (as corrected by 87 -6), 86 -6, 87 -11, and
93 -34) to the City of Kennedale in Tarrant County, Texas,
submitted to the Attorney General pursuant to Section 5 of the
Voting Rights Act of 1965, as amended, 42 U.S.C. 1973c. We
received your submissions on September 27, 1993; supplemental
information was received on November 18 and 23, 1993.
The Attorney General does not interpose any objection to the
specified changes. However, we note that Section 5 expressly
provides that the failure of the Attorney General to object does
not bar subsequent litigation to enjoin the enforcement of the
changes. See the Procedures for the Administration of Section 5
(28 C.F.R. 51.41).

tracts for the improvements to the
City Park should be received soon.
Projects planned with grants from
the Community Development. Pro-
gram are cleaning out the brush and
undergrowth from around the tanks,
making a walking trail around the
tanks, building a softball diamond,
and, in general, making the park
more usable and accessible.
City Tax Collector Linda Jones was
busily sending out tax statements
May 24 with notices in them
informing residents that a 15%
attorney fee had been added to their
unpaid taxes. Payments received
without the 15% fee included will be
returned.
Can you believe it? It is already
time to start with June birthday
greetings and our first one goes to
Billy Burks Jr. who will celebrate
his special day June .2. Happy
