O85-18ORDINANCE NO. 85-18 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING THE HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TARRANT COUNTY TEXAS AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDARY LIMITS OF SAID CITY SO AS TO INCLUDE SAID HEREINAFTER DESCRIBED PROPERTY WITHIN THE CITY LIMITS, AND GRANTING TO SAID TERRITORY AND TO ALL FUTURE INHABITANTS OF SAID PROPERTY ALL OF THE RIGHTS AND PRIVILEGES OF OF OTHER CITIZENS AND BINDING SAID FUTURE INHABITANTS BY ALL OF THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES OF THE SAID CITY. WHEREAS, a petition for annexation has been duly signed and acknowledged by each and every person or corporation having an interest in the following described territory, to- wit: (Attached exhibit A) WHEREAS, said tract of land is contiguous and adjacent to the City of Kennedale, Texas, and is not more than one - half (�) mile in width, and WHEREAS, said petition was presented to the City Council on the 13 day of May 1985, such date being not less than 5 and not more than 90'days from the date hereof, and WHEREAS, after hearing such petition and the arguments for and against the same the City Council has voted to grant such petition and to annex said territory to the City Kennedale, Texas; NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained by the City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas: That the following described property, to -wit: (See attached Exhibit A) be and the same is hereby annexed to the City of Kennedale, Tarrant County, Texas, and that the boundary limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, be and the same are hereby extended to include the above described territory within the city limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and the same shall hereafter be included within the territorial limits of said city, and said land and the future inhabitants thereof shall hereafter be entitled to all rights and privileges of other citizens of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and shall be bound by the acts and ordinances of said city. Projects planned with grants from the Community Development. Pro- gram are cleaning out the brush and undergrowth from around the tanks, making a walking trail around the tanks, building a softball diamond, and, in general, making the park more usable and accessible. City Tax Collector Linda Jones was busily sending out tax statements May 24 with notices in them informing residents that a 15% attorney fee had been added to their unpaid taxes. Payments received without the 15% fee included will be returned. Can you believe it?
