AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE DEFINITION OF "JUNKED VEHICLE" IN
CHAPTER 10, ARTICLE 4, SECTION 10-51, OF THE KENNEDALE CITY
CODE 1977
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS:
1. That Subdivision (2), of Section 10-51, of Article 4, of
CHAPTER 10, " HEALTH, SAFETY AND NUISANCES" , of the KENNEDALE CITY
CODE 1977, defining "Junked vehicle", is hereby amended to read as
follows:
"(2) "Junked vehicle" means any motor vehicle as defined
in Section 1 of Article 6701d-11, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes,
as amended, which:
(a) is inoperative and which does not have lawfully
affixed thereto both an unexpired license plate or plates
and a valid motor vehicle safety inspection certificate
and which is wrecked; dismantled; partially dismantled;
or discarded; or
(b) remains inoperable for a continuous period of
more than 120 days."
2. That a person violating a provision of this ordinance, or
the Code provisions to which it relates, is guilty of a misdemeanor,
and upon conviction, is punishable by a fine not to exceed $200.00.
3. That CHAPTER 10 of the KENNEDALE CITY CODE 1977 shall re-
main in full force and effect, save and except as amended by this
ordinance, and this ordinance shallbecome effective immediately
upon its adoption and approval.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 9th day of February, 1978.
