AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES FOR THE USE AND
SUPPORT OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE MUNICIPAL
GOVERNMENT, AND PROVIDING FOR THE BOND AND
INTEREST RETIREMENT FUNDS OF ALL OUTSTAND-
ING GENERAL OBLIGATION BONDS OF THE CITY,
FOR THE TAX YEAR 1978; APPORTIONING EACH
LEVY FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE: AND
PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That there is hereby levied and there shall
be collected for the use and support of the municipal government
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and to provide an interest and
sinking fund for the retirement of each series of outstanding
general obligation bonds of the City of Kennedale, Texas, upon all
property, real and personal and mixed, within the corporate limits
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, subject to taxation, a tax of One
Dollar and Thirty -Five Cents ($1.35) on each One Hundred Dollars
($100.00) valuation of property for the tax year 1978, said tax
being so levied and apportioned for the purposes herein set forth:
(a) For the Interest and Sinking Funds of the City
of Kennedale, Texas, for payment of principal
as it matures and interest as it accrues upon
all outstanding General Obligation Tax Bonds of
the City of Kennedale, Texas, a tax of Fifty -
Seven Cents (57¢) on each One Hundred Dollars
($100.00) valuation of property.
(b) For the maintenance and support of the general
government of the City of Kennedale, Texas
(General Fund), a tax of Seventy -Eight Cents
(78¢) on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00)
valuation of property.
Section 2. There is hereby levied and there shall be
collected from every person, fitui, association and corporation pursuing
any occupation taxed by the general laws of the State of Texas, an
annual occupation tax equal in each instance to one-half of the State
occupation tax, which said taxes shall be paid annually in advance
except where otherwise payable by State law, and then as provided by
State law, which occupation taxes are hereby appropriated to the
maintenance and support of the general municipal government
(General Fund).
Section 3. All monies collected under this ordinance are
hereby appropriated and set apart for the purposes recited, and the
City Secretary shall keep accounts so as to readily and distinctly
show amounts collected and expended and on hand at any time, in each
of said funds, and it is hereby made the duty of the City Tax Assessor -
Collector and every person collecting money for the City of Kennedale
to deliver to the City Secretary therewith a statement showing to what
fund such should be deposited and from what source received. All
receipts of the City of Kennedale, Texas, not specifically apportioned
by this ordinance are hereby made payable to the General Fund, unless
the City Council shall by resolution or ordinance hereafter otherwise
direct.
Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full
force and effect immediately upon its passage.

The above and foregoing having been found correct, the final
roll as certified by the assessor was approved, along with the min
utes of the board of equalization for the City of Kennedale for the
year 1978.
I, Paul 0. Mathis , Assessor of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, do solemnly swear that the rolls (or books) to which this is
attached contains a correct and full list of the real and personal
property subject to taxation in the City of Kennedale, Texas, so far
as I have been able to ascertain the same; that I have sworn every
person listing property to me in the City,, or caused the same to be
done in manner and form as provided by law, and that the assessed
value set down in the proper column opposite the several kinds and
descriptions of property is the true and correct valuation thereof
as ascertained by law, and the footings of the several columns in
said books and the tabular statement returned is correct, as I
verily believe.
