O74-07CITY OF KENNEDALE ORDINANCE NO. 74-7 AMENDMENT OF KENNEDALE ELECTRICAL CODE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS: 1. That the Kennedale Electrical Code, being Kennedale Ordinance No. 73-5, as originally adopted on April 12, 1973, be and the same is hereby amended as set forth in this ordinance. 2. Section 4 thereof is hereby amended by addition there- to of the following Subsection (f): "(f) No aluminum wire shall be used in any residence building in the City of Kennedale, Texas." 3. Section 5 thereof is hereby amended by deletion of the third paragraph thereunder, and the addition of the following as such third paragraph thereunder in lieu of the deletion: "Electrician Licenses, as set forth in this section, shall be issued only to those persons having thenecessary qual- ifications, skills and experience to perform electrical work in conformity with the requirements of this Code. The City Council may appoint an Electrical Examiner, who shall himself be quali- fied for a Master Electrician's License, to administer a test or tests to determine the qualifications of applicants for such licenses. It shall be deemed a sufficient demonstration of qual- ifications for any license authorized hereunder, however, if an applicant is certified as qualified therefor by the Tarrant County Electrical Examining Board, which the City Council finds to be a Board of qualified examiners for such purpose selected by parti- cipating municipal corporations in the Tarrant County area. The City Council shall also have authority to issue licenses without further examination to applicants who hold valid similar licenses from other municipal corporations found to have requirements therefor comparable to those imposed by this ordinance, and which cities extend reciprocal arrangements to Kennedale." 4. Section 5 thereof if further hereby amended by the ad- dition thereto of the following paragraph: "Those persons per- forming electrical work not requiring a license hereunder, whet- her as property owner or otherwise, shall nevertheless be re- quired to obtain a permit for any such work under the provisions - of this Code, and shall be subject to the same regulations with respect to permit fees, inspections, standards of work, materials, and the like, as is required for other electrical work under this Code, provided only that such person shall be also exempt from the requirement of giving bond therefor." 5. Section 6 thereof, pertaining to permit fees, is here- by amended in the following respects only: (a) The first reference to permit fee for electric service is amended to read as follows, in order to correct a typographical error in the original ordi- nance: "Electric Service (to 60 amp.) . • . $1.50". (b) The following additional fee item is hereby add- ed to said schedule of permit fees: "For each re - inspection of any electrical installation or work hereunder . . $2.00". (This is intended as an added fee for return to the site for reinspection of the installation for which permit was issued, and not an additional fee to each separately itemized part thereof requiring reinspection.) 6. Section 9 thereof is hereby amended by addition thereto of the following sentence to the next to last para- graph thereof: "In ascertaining provisions that may be in con- flict with this ordinance, and hereby repealed, reference must be also made to the National Electrical Code, adopted by ref- erence in Section 2 hereof as well as the wording of this Ordinance No. 73-5 itself.j' 7. Except as hereby expressly amended the said Kennedale Electrical Code (Ordinance No. 73-5) is continued in full force and effect as originally adopted.
