AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF KENNE-
DALE, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA IS HERE-
BY MADE A PART OF SAID CITY AND THE OWNERS AND
INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL
THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER PROPERTY OWNERS AND
CITIZENS OF SAID CITY, AND SHALL BE BOUND BY
THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO
BE HEREAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR
THE AMENDING AND CORRECTING OF THE OFFICIAL
BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED
AND AMENDED, TO INCLUDE SAID LAND AND TERRI-
TORY; AND FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, after due notice as required by the Texas Munici-
pal Annexation Act, the City Council of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, has duly held a public hearing on the question of whether
said City should institute annexation proceedings on the herein-
after described property and territory, giving all interested
persons an opportunity to be heard at such hearing; and

1974, duly called for such purpose, said City Council has duly
considered such proposed annexation, and finds that all the ter-
ritory hereinafter described is situated within the extra-
territorial jurisdiction of the City of Kennedale, that it is
adjacent and contiguous to the existing boundaries of said City,
that it is not more than one-half mile in width, that all owners
thereof have made written application as by law provided for the
annexation of same to said City, and that all statutory require-
ments and conditions for annexation of said territory have been
fulfilled; now, therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the land and territory hereinafter de-
scribed lying entirely within the extraterritorial jurisdiction
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and being adjacent and contigu-
ous to the existing boundaries of said City, be, and the same
is hereby annexed to and brought within the corporate boundar-
ies, and hereby made an integral part of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, such land and territory hereby annexed being described by
metes and bounds as follows, to -wit:
BEING a tract of land in the M. F. Scott Survey, Abstract No.
1450, in Tarrant County, Texas, a part of the Tommy L: Gay land,
purchased from the Texas Veteran's Land Board, as described in
Vol. 3035, at Page 468, of the Deed Records of Tarrant County,
Texas, and more particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at a point, an iron rod, 447.5 feet North 89° 28' 30"
East and 60 feet North 3° 44' 30" East of the Northwest corner
of Lot 24 of the Gay Daughters Subdivision,, as shown in plat
filed 5-9-58, recorded in Vol. 388-9, at Page 423, of the Plat
Records of Tarrant County, Texas;
THENCE North 0° 46' 30" West, 510.1 feet to an iron rod in the
South line of a 5.06 acre tract;
THENCE North 890 13' 30" East, 204.9 feet to an iron rod at
the Southeast corner of said 5.06 acre tract in the West line
of Texas Electric Service Company tract of land (being also
in a present Westerly corporate limit line of the City of Ken-
nedale, Texas)
THENCE South 06 46' 30" East, 510.25 feet with the West line
of said Texas Electric tract (being also in a present Westerly
corporate limit line of the City of Kennedale) to a point for
corner;
THENCE South 89° 28' 30" West, 204.9 feet to the PLACE OF BE-
GINNING, and containing 2.40 acres of land, and being a clos-
ure of the first tract of land hereby annexed, the ending
point and last call being in the Northerly right-of-way line
of a 60 feet wide County Road;
THENCE, beginning at the ending point of the tract just de-
scribed, in a Westerly direction with the Northerly right-of-
way line of said 60-foot wide County Road to its point of in-
tersection with a present Easterly corporate limit line of the
City of Kennedale, Texas; thence in a Southerly direction with
the present corporate limit line of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, 60 feet more or less, to the intersection of the South-
erly right-of-way line of said County Road with the;present
corporate limit line of the City of Kennedale, Texas;
THENCE Easterly with the Southerly right-of-way line of said
60-foot wide County Road to its intersection with a present
Westerly corporate limit line of the City of Kennedale (being
also the West line of the Texas Electric tract hereinabove
mentioned);
THENCE Northerly with the West line of said Texas Electric
tract (being also a present Westerly corporate limit line of
the City of Kennedale, Texas), to the Southeast corner of the
first tract hereinabove described as being annexed by this or-
dinance;
THENCE South 89° 28' 30" West with the South line of said
first tract hereinabove described to its Southwest corner,
being also the POINT OF BEGINNING, and being a closure of
the second tract hereby annexed.
Section 2. It is the intention to hereby annex_: to,
the City of Kennedale, Texas, all of the property of Ted W.
Cox and wife, Patsy A. Cox, above described as the First
Tract hereby annexed, together with all of the 60-foot wide
existing County Road abutting such Cox property on the Cox
property South boundary line, and all of said County Road
extended Easterly and Westerly to said County Road's inter-
section with present corporate limit lines of the City of
Kennedale on the East and West, said County Road being here-
inabove described as the Second Tract hereby annexed.
Section 3. That the owners and inhabitants of the
property above described and hereby annexed be, and they are
hereby declared entitled to all of the rights and privileges
of other property owners and citizens of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, and shall henceforth be bound by all of the acts and
ordinances of said City of Kennedale, Texas, which are now in
force and effect, and which may be hereafter adopted.
Section 4. That the official boundaries of the City
of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be
and they are hereby corrected and amended, so as to include
the above described area and territory as a part of the City
of Kennedale, Texas.

Section S. That this ordinance shall become effective
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, duly at-
tested by the City Secretary.

Kennedale, Texas, hereby certify that the above and forego-
ing is a true and correct copy of City of Kennedale Ordinance
No. 74-3, duly adopted by the City Council of the City of
Kennedale, Texas, at a special meeting on the 27th day of
June, 1974, duly called for said purpose, at which meeting
a quorum was present, as is reflected by the minutes of said
City Council.

PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
TO THE HONORABLE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KENNEDALE, TEXAS:
We, the undersigned, being all of the owners of the
hereinafter described land and territory, hereby petition
the Mayor and City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas,
to institute all proceedings and adopt all ordinances and do
all things necessary to annex our hereinafter described land
and. territory and make the same a part of the City of Kenne-
dale, Texas, said land and territory being more particularly
described by metes and bounds as follows, to -wit:
BEING a tract of land in the M. F. Scott
Survey, Abstract No. 1450, in Tarrant
County, Texas, and being a part of the
Tommy L. Gay land, purchased from the Texas
Veteran's Land Board, as described in Vol.

that the undersigned are all the owners of said land and ter-
ritory.

of Kennedale, Texas, has set public hearing for 7:30 o'clock P.M.
on Thursday, the 13th day of June, 1974, in the Kennedale City
Hall, on the question of institution of proceedings for annexa-
tion of the following described property to the City of Kennedale:

Jona Road, a public road abutting the hereinabove described prop-
erty on the South and said entire length of Jona Road extending
Westerly from the West property line of the above described prop-
erty extended South to the intersection of said Jona Road with a
present Easterly boundary line of the City of Kennedale, Texas.
This hearing islet upon petition of Ted W. Cox and wife,
Patsy A. Cox for annexation by the City of Kennedale of their
above described property, and it is intended to consider the ques-
tion of also annexing the entire length of Jona Road abutting
said property which is not already within the corporate limits
of the City of Kennedale, Texas.
