Box 268 Kennedale, Texas 76060 Attention: Miss Jewel D. Boyd, City Secretary Dear Sir: STATE HIGHWAY ENGINEER J. C. DINGWALL • IN REPLY REFER TO FILE NO. TE We are transmitting herewith two (2) prints of a revised speed zone strip map showing the new regulatory speed limits on U.S. Highway 287 within Kennedale, from Station 614+85 to Station 651+00. Please note the existing school zone (30 mph when so signed for school crossing) located from Station 625+00 to Station 635+00. In order to provide more reaction time from the regulatory speed to the lower school zone speed, we plan to extend the 35 mph speed limit from Station 625+00 to Station 614+85. A new ordinance will be required to cover this extension of limits. Also trans- mitted herewith are three (3) copies of a revised typical speed zone ordinance for your consideration. When the ordinance has been passed, please forward two (2) copies of the approved ordinance to this office. Retain one (1) copy of the approved ordinance, and both strip maps, for your files and use. We appreciate your help and consideration in this matter. Yours very truly, R. W. Crook District Engineer JSM/jm Attach.
