O71-08CITY OF KENNEDALE ORDINANCE NO. 71-3 AN ORDINANCE LEVYING TAXES FOR TEE USE AND SUPPORT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNM.ENT OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING FOR THE BOND AND INTEREST RETIRE- MENT FUNDS OF ALL OUTSTANDING GENERAL OT-JLIGATION BONDS OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS, AS REREIN SET FORTH, FOR THE TAX YEAR 1971; APPORTIONING EACH LEVY FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS: Section 1. That there is hereby levied and there shall be collected for the use and support of the municipal govern- ment of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and to provide an inter- est and sinking fund for the retirement of each series of out- standing general obligation tax bonds of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as hereinafter set forth, upon all property, real, per- sonal and mixed, within the corporate limits of the said City of Kennedale, Texas, subject to taxation, a tax of One and 35/100 ($1.35) Dollars on each One Hundred and No/100 ($100.00) Dollars valuation of property for the tax year 1971, said tax being so levied and apportioned for the purposes herein set forth: (a) For the City of Kennedale Water Works System Bonds, Series 1959, Interest and Sinking Fund: Eight and One-half Cents (8) on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) valuation of property. For the City of Kennedale Water Works System Bonds, Series 1955, Interest a.-71 Sinking Fund: Eight Cents (Sa) on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) valua- ation of property. (c) For the City of Kennedale General Obligation Bonds, Series 1960, Interest and Sinking Fund: Ten and One-half Cents (10) on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) valuation of property. (d) For the City of Kennedale Gene, -al Obligation Bonds, Series 1952, Interest and Sinking Fund: Four Cents (4‘) on each One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) valua- tion of property. There is hereby levied and there shall be collected from every person, firm, association or corporation pursuing any occupation taxed by the general laws of the State of Texas, an annual occupation tax equal in each instance to one-half (2) of the state occupation tax, which said taxes shall be paid annually in advance except where otherwise pro- vided by state law, and then as provided by state law, which occup zion taxes are hereby appropriated to the maintenance and support of the general municipal government (General Fund). Section 3. All monies collected under this ordinance are hereby appropriated and set apart for the purposes indi- cated, and the City Secretary shall keep accounts so as to readily and distinctly show the amount collected, the amount expended and the aii,ount on hand at any time, in each of said funds, and it is hereby made the duty of the City Tax Assessor - Collector and every person collecting money for the City of Kennedale, Texas, to deliver to the City Secretary -Treasurer, at the time of depositing any monies, a statement showing to what fund such deposit should be made and from what source re- ceived. All receipts of the City of Kennedale not specifically apportioned by this ordinance are hereby made payable to the General Fund of the City, unless the City Council shall by reso- lution or ordinance hereafter otherwise direct. Section 4. This ordinance shall take effect and be in full force and effect from and after its passage. PASSED AND APPROVED this 23rd day of September, 1971. ATTEST: Jewe%D.
