HE* ER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR 1 ING 0.CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BO PARIES .OF SAID .CITY AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED, AND _ FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE._ WH A 2 after due notice as required by Section 6 of the Texas Municipal Annexation Act, the City Council of the 'City of Kennedale, Texas, has duly held a corporate hearing after due notice thereof as required by law, on the question of whether the said City of Kennedale should institute annexa- tion proceedings on the hereinafter described property, giving all interested persons an opportunity to be heard at such public hearing; and WEE ' , the City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, after such public hearing,has on this llth day of June, 1970, being not less than ten nor more than twenty days subsequent to such public hearing, determined that it will be in the best interest of the City of Kennedale, Texas, its inhabitants and the owners and inhabitants of the hereinafter described territory, that such land and territory be annexed to the City of Kennedale, Texas; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Article 974-g, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes of 1925, as amended, all of the owners of, the real property hereinafter described have made application as by law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, requesting annexation of the hereinafter described property to said City; and WHEREAS, said City Council at a regular meeting this llth day of June, 1970, has duly and legally considered the annexation of said hereinafter described territory, and finds that said area is situated entirely within the extra -territorial jurisdiction of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and is adjacent and contiguous to the existing boundaries of the City of Kennedale, and is not more than one-half mile in width, and that all statutory requirements and conditions for the annexation of said land and territory have been fulfilled; now, therefore: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE -CITY OF K TEXAS: . .„ EDALE, Section 1. That the land and territory hereinafter described, lying entirely within the extra -territorial jurisdiction of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and being adjacent and contiguous to the present existing boundaries of said City, be, and said land and territory is hereby annexed anibrought within the cor- porate limits and hereby made an integral part of the City of Kennedale, Texas, such land and territory hereby annexed being described by metes and bounds as follows, to -wit: BEING a part of the M. F. Scott Survey, Abstract No. 1450; in Tarrant County, Texas, adjoining the present boundary line of the corporate limits of -the City of Kennedale, Texas, and more particularly described as follows: Beginning at an iron rod at a fence corner which is S 3° 44V W 60 feet and N 89° 281/21 E 157.8 feet from the Southwest corner of a 5.00 acre tract of land conveyed 1 by To1101 y L. Gay to Joe B. Anderson. Also being the Northeast corner of lot 24 of the Gay Daughters' Sub- division as shown on plat filed 5-9-58 and recorded in Volume 388-9, page 423, Tarrant County records, Tarrant County, Texas. Thence N 89° E 498.0 feet with the south line of Jonah Road to an iron rod. Thence S 0° 30k E 431.0 feet to the North east corner of lot 34 as shown on subdivision plat filed August 25, 1959, and recorded in Volume 388-15, page 605, Tarrant County Records; Tarrant County, Texas. Thence S 89° 35k' W 501.0 feet to an iron rod at the northwest corner of lot 28 and in the east line of lot 27. Thence N 00 06%'W 430.0 feet with the east line of lots 27, 26, 25 and 24 to the place of beginning and containing 4.93 acresof land. Section 2. That the owners and inhabitants of the property above described and hereby annexed be, and they xe hereby declared entitled to all of the rights and privileges of other property owners and citizens of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and shall henceforth be bound by all the acts and ordi- nances of said City of Kennedale, Texas, which are now in force and effect, and which may be hereafter adopted. Section 3. That the official boundaries of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be corrected and amended, so as to include the above described area and territory as a part of the City of Kennedale, Texas. Section 4. That this ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, duly attested by the City Secretary. ADOPTED APPROVED this llth day of June, 1970. F.
