O68-07KENNEDALE ORDINANCE NO, 68-7 AN ORDINANCE TFVYING TAXES FOR THE USE AND SUPPORT OF THE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF KENNEDAL7, TEXAS, AND PROVIDING FOR TTiE WATER WORKS S7STEM BOND AND INTEREST RETIREMENT FUND, SERIES 1952, AND TEE WATER WORKS SYSTEM BOND AND INTEREST RETIREMENT FUND, SERIES 1955, AND THE GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND AND INTEREST RETI=ENT FUND, SERIES 1960, AND TEE GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND AND INTEREST RETIREMENT FUND, SERIES 1962, AND THE GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND AND INTEREST RETIREMENT FUND, SERIES 1964, AND TEE GENERAL OBLIGATION BOND AND INTEREST RETTREMENT FUND, SERT7S 1965, AND THE CITY OF KENNEDATF REFUND- ING BOND AND 7NTEREST RETIREMENT FUND, SERTES 1967, FOR THE TAX YEAR 1968; APPORTIONING EACH LEVY FOR THE SPECIFIC PURPOSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. BE IT ORDAINED 3-1 TEE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF K=EDATF TEXAS: Section 1. That there is hereby levied and there shall be collected for the use and support of the municipal government of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and to provide an interest and sinking fund for the retirement of City of Kennedale Water Works System Bonds, Series 1952, and City of Kennedale Water Works System Bonds, Series 1955, and City of Kennedale General Oblia- tion Bonds, Series 1960, and City of Kennedale General Obligation Bonds, Series 1962, and City of Kennedale General Obligation Bonds, Series 1964, and City of Kennedale General Obligation Bonds, Ser- ies' 1965, and City of Kennedale Refunding Bonds, Series 1967, upon all property, real, personal and mixed, within the cor- porate limits of the said City of Kennedale, Texas, subject to taxation, a tax of One and. No/100 Dollars ($1.00) on each One Hundred and NO/100 Dollars ($100.00) valuation of property for the year 1968, said tax being so levied and apportioned for the purposes herein set forth: (a) For the City of Kennedale Water Works System Bonds, Series 1952, Interest and Sinking Fund: Twelve Cents (1.2) on each One Hundred and No/100 Dollars $100.00) valuation of property. (b) For the City of Kennedale Water Works System Bonds, Series 1955, interest and. Sinking Fund: Six Cents (6) per One Hundred and. No/100 Dollars ($100.00) valuation of property. (c) For the City of Kennedale General Obligation Bonds, Series 1960, Interest and Sinking Fund: Eighteen Cents (18) on each One Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($100.00) valuation cf property. For the City of Kennedale General Obligation Bonds, Series 1962, Interest and Sinking Fund: Seven Cents (n) on each One Hundred and No/100 Dollars ($100.00) valuation of property. (e) (g) (n) For the City of Kennedale General Obligation Bonds, Series 1964, Interest and Sinking Fund: Five and one-half Cents (51i.) on each One Hundred and No/100 Dollars §100.00) valuation of property. For the City of Kennedale General Obligation Bonds, Series 1965, Tnterest and. Sinking Fund: Three and one-half Cents (3) on each One Hundred and. NO/100 Dollars ($100.00) valuation of property. For the City of Kennedale Refunding Bonds, Series 1967, Interest and. Sinking Fund.: Five and one-half Cents (57.i) on each One Hundred and. No/100 Dollars ($100.00) valuation of property. For the maintenance and support of the generalgovernment (General Fund): Forty-two and one-half Cents (42i) on each One Hundred and. No/100 Dollars valuation of property. Section 2. There is hereby levied and there shall be collected from every person, firm, association or corpora- tion pursuing any occupation taxed by the general laws of the State of Texas, an annual occupation tax equal in each instance to one-half (1) of of the state occupation tax, which said taxes shall be paid annually in advance except where otherwise pro- vided by state law, which occupation taxes are hereby appro- priated to the maintenance of the general municipal government (General Fund). Section 3. All monies collected under this ordinance are hereby appropriated and set apart for the purposes indicated, and the City Secretary shall keep accounts so as to readily and distinctly show the amount collected, the amount expended, and the amount on hand at any time, in each of said funds, and it is hereby made the duty of the City Tax Assessor -Collector, and every person collecting money for the City of Kennedale, to deliver to the City Secretary -Treasurer, at the time of depositing any monies, a statement showing to what fund such deposit should be made and from what source received. All receipts for the City not specifically apportioned by this ordinance are hereby made payable to the General Fund of the City, unless the City Council shall by resolution or ordinance hereafter otherwise direct.
