O67-07KENNEDALE RESOLUTION NO. 67-7 BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS, APPOINTING A COUNCIL- MAN TO FILL THE VACANCY CREATED BY THE RESIGNATION OF FORMER COUNCILMAN BOBBY R. VAUGHN WHEREAS, Bobby R. Vaughn has resigned his office as Councilman of the City of Kennedale, Texas, which resignation has been accepted by the Kennedale City Council; and WHEREAS, such single office of Councilman is the only vacancy now existing on the City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and it is the desire of said City Council to fill said vacancy by appointment, as authorized by Article 989, Texas Revised Civil Statutes, as amended; now, therefore: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS: 1. That RA- , be, and he is hereby appointed to the office of Councilman of the City of Kennedale, Texas, to serve in said office until the next regular municipal election, or until his successor is duly elected and qualified. 2. That said appointment is to fill the vacancy on said City Council caused by the resignation of Bobby R. Vaughn. 3. That the proper officials are hereby authorized and instructed to administer the oath of office to the said and to do all things necessary to install him in said office of Councilman of the City of Kennedale, Texas. The City Council of the City of Kennedale convened in Special Meeting on the 16th day of March, 1967, at the City Hull, and the Roll was called of the duly constituted officers and members of said City Council, to -wit: B. KENNEDALE ORDINANCE NO. 67-7 AN ORDINANCE DIRECTING PUBLICATION OF NOTICE TO BIDDERS FOR THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS WHEREAS, the City Council finds that the improvements • as set out in the notice hereinafter prescribed are urgently needed by the City of Kennedale, Texas, in order to perform its essential municipal functions; THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF K7NNEDALE: 1. M., on the 6th day of April, 1967, for the furnishing of material for: "The materials and supplies for the con- struction of improvements and extensions to the City's Water Works System not exceeding $13,200.00; in accordance with the specifications therefor now on file in the office of the City Secretary, and at such time and place all such proposals will be publicly opened and read. Bidders are expected to inspect the site of the work and to inform themselves of all local conditions. Plans and specifications covering the work to be done may be examined at the office of the City Secretary in the City Hall at Kennedale, Texas. Plans, specifications and bidding documents may be secured at the office of Freese, Nichols and Endress, Consulting Engineers, 503 Throckmorton Building, Fort Worth, Texas, without deposit. It is the intention of the City Council to issue the time warrants of the City of Kennedale for payment of a part or all of the contracts to be made pursuant to this notice, and to pay part or all of the Engineer's fees. The maximum amount of time warrant indebtedness to be incurred for said purposes shall be $15,000.00, the rximun rate of interest such time warrants are to bear is 6 f per annum, and the aximum maturity date thereof shall be 1988. The City has ob- tained a commitment from an investment company for the purchase of said warrants from the Contractor, so that said warrants shall be delivered to the Contractor on approved instruments and the Contractor shall immediately deliver said warrants to said investment company and receive in cash the par value therefor. NO BID may be withdrawn within thirty C30) days after the date on which bids are opened. IN CASE of ambiguity or lack of clearness in stating the price in the bids, the City reserves the right to consider the most advantageous construction thereof, and to reject any or all bids, and to award a cntra ct or contracts to that bidder or bidders who, in the opinion of the city Council, offers the proposal to the best interest of the City.
