WHEREAS, pursue nt to Article 974, Texas
Revised CivilStatutes of 1925, as amended, three
inhabitants of the hereinafter described territory,
each .f whom is qualified to vote for members of the
Texas State Legislature, have heretofore executed and
file•! with the Mayor of the City of Kennedale, Texas,
their affidavit reciting that n election has been
held in and among the inhabitants of said hereinafter
described territory, who are qualified to vote for
members of the Texas State Legislature, and that a
jority of such inhabitants so qualified to vote
have voted in favor of said hereinafter described
territory becor,iing a part of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, which affidavit has been duly certified by
the Mayor to the City Council of said City of Kennedale,
Texas; and
W'!f;REAS, the City Council of the City of
Kennedale, Texas, as provided by law, has heretofore
given notice by publication of a public hearing on the
question of the annexation of said hereinafter described
territory, and 1r s conducted a public hearing on said
question as specified in such publication notice, hearing
the arguments for and against such annexation, and has
this 9th gay of December, 1965, at a regular meeting of
said City Council, duly and legally considered said
affidavit and proposal for annexation; and
WHEREAS, it appearing to the City Council
that all statutory requirements in connection with said
election and affidavit, and the annexation of said herein-
after described territory, have been fulfilled, and that
an election was in fact held as recited in said affidavit,
that a jority of the inhabitants of said territory
qualified to vote for members of the Texas State Legislature
have voted in favor of annexation of said territory, and
that said territory is adjacent to the present boundaries
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and is not more than one-
half mile in width, and that it would be to the best in-
terest of t.ie City of Kennedale and its inhabitants, as
well as the inhabitants of said territory, that the same
be annexed to the City of Kennedale, Texas, all of which
the Council so finds; now, therefore:.

CITY OF KENNEOALE,
Section 1. That the hereinafter described territory,
lying adj;.,cent to the existing boundaries of the City of Kenne-
dale, Texas, be, and the same is hereby annexed and brought
within the corporate limits and hereby made an integral part
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, said land and territory being
described by metes and bounds as follows, to -wit:
Being property in the M. P. Lamar Survey,
Abstract No. 987, Tarrant County, Texas,
and described by metes and bounds as follows;
to -wit:
BEGINNING at a present northeasterly corner
of the existing corporate limits of the
City of Kennedale, Texas, in the west line
of the Kennedale-Little School Road (County
Roa No. 2013), said point being the north--
east corner of tract of land annexed to
the City .rf Kennedale by Kennedale Ordinance
No. 59-1, recorded in Volume 3291, page 279,
Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas;
THENCE west with the present corporate
limit line of the City of Kennedale, Texas,
a distance of 50 feet for corner;

and 50 feet west of the westerly right-of-way
line of said Kennedale Little -School Road to
the south line of an 8.1 acre tract of land
owned by F.H. Leach and wife, Anna Ruth
Leach, asdescribed in deed to them from
Samuel W. Ray, et ux., recorded in Volume
2329, page 42, of the Deed Records. of
rrant County, Texas;
THENCE west withthe south boundary line
of said Leach Tract to the southwest
corner of said tract;

Leach Tract to it`s northwest corner, being
also the southwest corner of an 8..1 acre
tract conveyed by C.V. Stockton, et ux.,
to William M. Horton 'and wife, Dorothy J.
Horton, by deed recorded in Volume 1917,
page 264, Deed Records of Tarrant County,
Texas, continuing north with the west line
of said Horton Tract to the northwest corner
of said Horton Tract;
THENCE east with the orth line of said
Horton Tract and being also the north line
of said Lamar Survey, and continuing east
along the north line of a tract now owned
by Karl C. eyes and wife, Loraine Hayes,
as described in deed recorded in Volume
1804, page 78, Deed Records of Tarrant
County, Texas, to the northeast corner
of said Hayes Tract in the Kennedale-
Little School Road, and continuing east•
to the easterly line of sid Kennedale-
Little School Roa•L�
THENCE Southerly or southrterly along the
eastern right-of-way line of said Kennedale-
Little School Road (County Road No, 2013) to
its point of intersection with the present
corporate limit line of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, in the north line of the T.F. Rogers
Survey, Abstract No. 1363;
THENCE west with the north line of said
Rogers Survey to the westerly right-of-way
line of Kennedale-Little School Road;
THENCE northerly and northeasterly wl,th
the westerly right-of-way line of said
Kennedale-Little School Road to the point
of beginning.
Section 2. It is the intention to herein describe
and annex to the city of Kennedale, Texas, a 50 foot wide
strip across the property of Mattie Shytles and the property
of C. L. Shytles and wife, Virginia Louise Shytles, abutting
the west side of Kennedale-Little School Road, and all of the
land owned by William lie Horton and wife, Dorothy J. Horton,
by Karl C. Hayes and wife, Loraine Hayes, and by H. H. Leach
and wife, Anna Ruth Leach, in said La r; r Survey, together with
the portion of said Kennedale-Little School Road ibutting
each of said properties to the east and the portion of said
Kennedale-Little School Road iltervening between said pro-
perties and the present corporate limits of the City of
Kennedale, Texas, to the south.
Section 3. That the owners and inhabitants of
the area hereinabove described and ainexed shall be entitled
to all the rights and privileges of other owners and in-
habitants and citizens of the City of Kennedale, Texas,
and shall be bound by all of the acts and ordinances of
the City of Kennedale now in full force and effect and
that may be hereafter adopted.
Section 4. That the official map and boundaries
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted, be,
and the same are hereby corrected and amended so as to
include the hereinabove described area and territory as
a . rt of the City of Kennedale, Texas
Section 5, This ordinance shall become effective
immediately upon its rassage and approval by the Mayor, duly
attested by the City Secretary.

We, the undersigned, Karl C. Hayes and wife, Loraine
Hayes, H. H. Leach and wife, Anna Ruth Leach, William M. Horton
and wife, Dorothy J. Horton, Mattie Shytles, widow of Dee
Shytles, Deceased, C..L. Shytles and wife, Virginia Louise
Shytles, being all of the owners of the hereinafter described
land and territory lying contiguous and adjacent to te existing
corporate limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, hereby petition
the Mayor and City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, to
institute all proceedings and adopt all ordinances and do all
other things necessary to annex said hereinafter described land
and territory and r-ke the same a part of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, said land and territory being more particularly described
as follows, to -wit:
Being property in the M. P. La r Survey,

It is the intention to here describe a 50 foot
strip across the property of the said Mattie Shytles and
the said C. L. Shytles and wife, in said Lamar Survey,
abutting the west side of Kennedale-Little School Road,
and all of the land owned by the said William M. Horton
and wife, the syid Karl C. Hayes and wife, and the said
H. H. Leach and wife, in said Lamar Survey, together with
the portion of Kennedale-Little School Road abutting each
of said properties to the east and the portion of said
Kennedale-Little School Road intervening between said
properties and the present corporate limits of the City
of Kennedale, Texas, to the south.
Petitioners would show the said Mayor and City
Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, that the above
described property is contiguous and adjacent to the present
corporate limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, is less
than one-half mile in width, is not now a part of any other
municipal corporation, and that the undersigned are all of
the qualified voters residing on said property above des-
cribed and are unanimously in favor of its annexation to the
City of Kennedale, Texas.
