Artie Brown, a single man, being all of the owners of the hereinafter described real property, have made application .as by law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, requesting annexation to said City of the area situated in the County of Tarrant, State of xas, described as follows, to -wit: ein , a part of Block 54, Shelby County School Land Survey, Abstract No. 1375, in Tarrant County, Texas, described as follows: BEG 1 ., .;ING at the southwest corner of Lot 5, Andrews Oaks Addition, Second Filing, to the City of Kennedale, Tarrant County, Texas, as shown in plat recorded in Volume 388-9, Page 213, Plat Records of Tarrant County, Texas, said point also being a corner in the present corporate limits of the City of Kenne.[ale, Texas; THENCE South 370 feet, more or less, to a point in the north boundary line of a tract deeded to George Ca Jackson and wife, Doris Evelyn Jackson, by Warranty Deed recorded in Volume 3170, Page 565, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, same also being a point in the present corporate limits in the City of Kennedale Texas; THENCE East with the north line of said Jackson Tract and the present corporate limit line of the City of Kennedale to the center of Dick Price Road; THENCE North with the center line of Dick Price Road, being also a present corporate limit line of the City of Kennedale, Texas, 370 feat, more or less, to an ell corner of the corporate limits of Kennedale, being the south line of Lot 5, Andrews Oaks Addition, projected eastward; THENCE West along a present corporate limit line of the City of Kennedale and the south line of said Lot 5, Andrus Oaks Addition, Ito the place of beginning. WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as provided by law, has heretofore given notice by publication of a public hearing *n the question of the annexation of sid above described territory, and has con- ducted a public hearing on said question as specified in such publication notice, hearing the arguments for and against such annexation, and has this 9th day of December, 1965, at a regular meeting of said City Council, duly and legally considered said petition, and it appearing to the City Council that all statutory requirements in connection with said application and petition have been fulfilled and that all of said area, on which less than three ualified voters reside, is adjacent and contiguous to the present existing boundaries and limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and is not more than one-half mile in width, all of which the Council so finds; now, therefore: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNFDALE, TEXAS Section 1. That the property hereinabove des- cribed lying adj-cent nd contiguous to the present existing boundaries and limits of the City of Kennedale,Texas, be, and the sane is hereby annexed and brought within the cor- porate limits and made an integral part of the City of Kennedale, Texas. Section 2. That the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed be, and they are hereby declared entitled to all the rights and privileges of other property owners and citizens of the said City of Kennedale, Texas, and shall be bound by all acts and ordinances of said City of Kennedale which are now in force and effect, and which may be hereafter adopted. Section 3. It is the intention to herein describe and annex to the City of Kennedale, Texas, the portion of the said L. Artie Brown's property in Block 54, Shelmy County School Land Survey, bounded on the west by the west bounary line of Andrews Oaks Addition pro- jected southward, bounded opt the suth by the George C. Jackson Property annexed by Kennedale Ordinance No. 64-11, recorded in Volume 4148, page 103, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, bounded on the north by the said Andrews Oaks Addition, and bounded on the east by Dick Price Road, together with the abutting portion of Dick Price Road nt already within the existing corporate limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, Section 4. That the official map and boundaries of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be corrected and amended, so as to include the above described area and territory as a part of the City of Kennedale, Texas. Section 5. That this ordinance shall become effective from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, duly attested by the City Secretary. ADOPT. Jackson and wife, Doris Evelyn Jackson, being all of the owners of the hereinafter des- cribed land and territory lying contiguous and adjacent to the existing corporate liits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, here- by petition the :.yor and City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, to institute all proceedings and to adopt all ordinances and do all other things necessary to annex said hereinafter des- cribed land and territory and make the same a part of the City of Kennedale, Texas, said land and territory being more particularly described as follows, to -wit: Being a part of Block 54 Shelby County School Land Survey, Abstract No. 1375, in Tarrant County, Texas, and part of a tract deeded by L. Artie Brown to George C. Jackson and wife, Doris Evelyn Jackson, by warranty deed recorded, in Vol. 3170, Page 565, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, as follows: BEGINNING at the southeast corner of said Jackson Tract in the westerly right-of-way line of Dick Price Road; THENCE west along the south fence line of said Jackson Tract 2,588.54 feet, +lore or less, to a point in the center of Village Creek, eing the southeast corner of a tract deeded by George C. Jackson, et ux. to W. M. It is the intention therein describe for annexation all of the 31.04 ere tract of land conveyed to the undersigned George C. Jackson and wife, Doris Evelyn Jackson, by L. Artie Brown, by warranty deed dated December 9, 1957, recorded in Vo1.3170, at Page 565, of the Deed Record; of Tarrant County, Texas, together with that porti n of Dick Price Road abutting said land on the east and not already included within the .cor- porate limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, save and except a tract of 0.42 acres out of said 31.04 acres, being from the southwest corner thereof, heretofore conveyed by George C. Jackson and wife, Doris Evelyn Jackson, to W. M. Calhoun, by Warranty Deed dated August 2, 1963, and recorded in Vol. 3837, at Page 130, of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas. Petitioners would show the said Mayor and City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, that the above described pro- perty is cntiguous and adjacent to the present corporate limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, is less than one half (I) rile in width, is not now a part of any other municipal corporation, and that less than three qualified voters reside on said land and territory.
