EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Article
974-g, Vernon's Texas Revised Civil Statutes of 1925,
s amended, Donald T. Lyon and wife, Dolores 3. Lyon,
being all of the owners of the hereinafter described
real property, have made application as by law provided
to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, requesting annexation to said City of the area
situated in the County of rraL, State of Texas, des-
cribed as follows, to -wit:
Being all of Lots 1 and 2 (sometimes referrer.
to as Tr. cts 1 and 2), of the J.M. Estes Home
Tracts, a subdivision of a part of the J. M.
Lilly Survey, Abstract No. 985, and the.W.E
Haltom Survey, Abstract No. 1791, in Tarrant
County, Texas, according to plat thereof
recorded in Book 1857, Page 283', of the Deed
Records of Tarrant County, Texas; SAVE AND
EXCEPT such portions of said Lots 1 nd 2.as
are already within the existing corporate
limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas.
WHE°' ; S, the City Council of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, as provi ed by law, has heretofore given notice by
publication of a public hearing on the question of the
annexation of said above described territory, and has con-
ducted a public hearing on said question as .specifies« in
such publication notice, hearing the arguments for and
against such annexation, and has this 9th day of December,
1965, at a regular meeting of said City Council, duly and
legally considered said petition, and it appearing to the
City Council that all statutory requirements in connection
with said applic7 Lion and petition have been fulfilled and
that all of said area, on which less than three qualified
voters reside, is adjacent and continguous to the present
existing boundaries and limits of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, and is ot more than one-half mile in width, all of
which the Council so finds; now, therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY ','pt; CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the property hereinabove des--
cribed lying adjacent and contiguous to the present existing
boundaries and limits of the City of Kennedale, -xas, be,
and the same is hereby annexed and brought within the cor-
porate limits an' made an integral part of the City of
Kennedale, Texas.
Section 2. That the owners and inhabitants of
the area herein annexed be, and they are hereby declared
entitled to all the rights and privileges of other property
owners and citizens of the said City of Kennedale, Texas,
and shall be bound sy all acts and ordinances of said City
of Kennedale which are now in force and effect, and which
may be hereafter adopted.
Section 3. It is the intention to herein
describe_and annex to the City of Kennedale, Texas, all
of said Tracts 1 and 2, of the J. M. Estes ', ome Tracts,
as conveyed to the said Donald T. Lyon and wife, Dolores J.
Lyon, by two certain deeds, one dated July 21, 1964, oy
G. E. Young an wife, 011ie L. Young, recorded in Volume
3955, page 672, Deed Records of Tarrant County, xas, and
the other dated June 8, 1965, by Ruby J. Cooper, a single
woman, recorded in Volume 4077, page 25, Deed Records of
rrant County, Texas, save and except such portions of
said Ind as already lie within the existing corporate
limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas.
Section 4. That the official map and boundaries
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted and
amended, be corrected and amended, so as to include the
above described area nd territory as a part of the City
of Kennedale, Texas.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall become
effective from and after its passage and approval by the
Mayor, duly attested by the City Secretary.
ADOPTED AND APPROVE this the 9th day of
December, 1965.

of Kennedale, Texas, hereby certify that the above any fore-
going is a true and correct copy of Kennedale Ordinance No,
65-16, unanimously adopted by the City Council of the City
of Kennedale, Texas, at a regular meeting held in the Kenne-
dale City Hall on. the 9th day of December,i965, at which
meeting a quorum was present, as is reflected by the minutes
of said meeting.

PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
TO THE HONORABT.E CITY COUJNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENN EDALE, TEXAS:
We, the undersigned, Donald T. Lyon and wife, Dolores
J. Lyon, being all of the owners of the hereinafter described
land and territory lying contiguous and adjacent to the existing
corporate lixr.its of the City of Kennedale, Texas, hereby petition
the Mayor and City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, to
institute all proceedings and adopt all ordinances and do all
other things necessary to annex said hereinafter described land
and territory and make the same a part of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, said land and territory being more particularly described
as follows, to -wit:
Being all of Lots 1 and 2 (sometimes referred to as
Tracts 1 and 2), of the J. M. Estes Home Tracts, a
subdivision of a part of the J. M. Lilly Survey,
Abstract No. 985, and the W. E. Halto r Survey, Abstract
No. 1791, in Tarrant County, Texas, according to plat
thereof recorded in Book 1857, Page 283, of the Deed
Records of Tarrant County, Texas; SAVE AND EXCEPT such
portions of said Lots 1 and 2 as are already within the

and wife, 011ie L. Young, recorded in Volume 3955, Page 672,
of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and the other
being dated June 8th, 1965, by Ruby J. Cooper, a single woman,
recorded in Volume 4077, Page 25, of the Deed records of Tarrant
County, Texas, except :such portion of said land as is already
within the existing corporate limits of the City of Kennedale,
Texas.
Petitioners would show the said Mayor and City Council
.f the City or Kennedale, Texas, that the above described pro-
perty is contiguous and adjacent t. the present corporate li;r,its
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, is less than one-half (2) mile
in width, is not now a part of any other municipal corpration,
and that less than three qualified voters reside on said land
and territory.

said County and State, on this day personally appeared Donald T.
Lyon and Dolores J. Lyon, his wife, both known to me to be the
persons whose names are subscribed to the foregoing instrument,
and acknowledged to me that they each executed the same for the
purposes and consideration therein expressed, and the said
Dolores J. Lyon, wife of thesaidDonald T. Lyon having been
examined by me privily and apart from her husband, and having
the sane fully explained to her, she, the said Dolores J. Lyon
acknowledged such instrument to be her act and deed, and she
declared that she had willingly signed the same for the purposes
and consideration therein expressed, and that she did not wish
to retract it.
