AEXPRESSLY RESERVING THE RIGHT TO TE ' i1_NATE SUCH A NGEMENTm WHEREAS, B. T. Webb has heretofore resigned his appointive office as Water Superintendent of the City of Kennedale, Texas, in order to accept office and qualify as Mayor of the City of Kennedale, Texas, to.which he was duly elected; a ;d WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, is of the opinion that the City is without a qualified and trained employee to assure the duties of such appointive office of Water -Superintendent and that it will be umlore conoical to the City to train a present emmployee for said position than tl seek to employ an outsider; and WHEREAS, the City Council deems it appropriate, under the circuu;astances, to abolish the separate office of Water Superintendent te4porarily, and to assign the administrative duties of head. of .the Water Departent to the Mayor, compensating hill for such additional work upon the terms hereinafter set forth; .;ow, therefore: BE IT ORDAINED Y THE CITY COS , :. C IL OF THE CITY OF KE DALE, TEXAS: 1. The appointive office of Water Superintendent of the City of.Kennedale, Texas, is hereby abolished, til future action by this City Council, and the duties of adnnin- istrative head and supervision of the Water Department of the City of Kennedale are hereby assigned to the Mayor.. 2m The purpose of this. ordinance is to enable the Mayor to handle the administrative and supervisory duties of the Water Department during a temporary period while training an employee of te Water Departent to assu e the duties of Water Superintendent, and the City Council hereby expressly reserves the right to terminate such temporary arrangement and reestablish .the appointive office of Water Superintendent at anytime in the future that it deems such action appropriate. 3. Duriig such temporary period, the Mayor, in addition to his regular duties of said office, shall devote substantially forty (4+0) hours per week to the adinistrative and supervisory duties of the Water Departs ent, and shall be subject to a ergency call by said Department at anytinne, and shall pay particular attention to the training of an employee of said Department to assume the administrative and supervisory duties of the Depart,m►ent . 4. ntil further action by the City Council, and in order to compensate hift for the additional ti e and duties thus placed upon hio, the Mayor shall receive,-, in addition to the $5.00 fee now paid for attendance at each Council Meeting, a salary of $70.00 per week. 1964.
