AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING
TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO
THE CITY OF K.E > . apALE, TEXAS; PRO-
VIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BE MADE
A PART OF SUCH CITY AND THAT THE
OWNERS AND INHABITANTS ,' OF SHALL

OTHER PROPERTY OWNERS AND CITIZENS
OF SAID CITY AND SHALL BE BOUND BY

AND TO BE HEREAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER
PROVIDING FOR, AMENDING AND CORRECTING
THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY
AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED, AND FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to provisions of Article 974-g,
Vernon's Texas Revised Civil Statutes of 1925, as amended,
Ruth Rodgers, a single woman, being the sole owner of the
real property hereinafter described, has made application
as by law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the
City of Kennedale, Texas, requesting annexation to said
City of the area situated in the County of Tarrant, State
of Texas, described as follows, to -wit:
BEING an 11.7 acre tract, more or less,
out of the W.E. Haltom Survey, Abstract
No. 1791, Tarrant County, Texas, together
with that portion of the Kennedale-Sublett
Road abutting said 11.7 acre tract on the
south and also that portion of said Kennedale-
Sublett Road intervening between said 11.7
acre tract and the present existing limits
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and more
particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the northeast corner of the
W.E. Haltom Survey, Abstract No. 1791,
Tarrant County, Texas, said point being
the northeast corner of the 11.7 acre
tract herein referred to, and also being
the northeast corner of the Rodgers' 50
acre tract out of said survey;
THENCE south along the east line of said
W.E. Haltom Survey, 338 varas to a point
for corner;
THENCE west with the south boundary line
of said 11.7 acre tract, as hereinafter
identified, to a point in the center
line of the said Kennedale-Sublett Road,
said point being the point of intersection
of the south boundary line of said 11.7
acre tract with the center line of said
Road;
THENCE south 25 feet, more or less, to
the south right-of-way line of Kennedale-
Sublett Road;
THENCE westerly along the south right-of-
way line of Kennedale-Sublett Road to its
intersection with the present east boundary
line of the City of Kennedale, Texas;
THENCE north 25 feet, more or less, to the
center line of Kennedale-Sublett Road;
THENCE west along the center line of
said Kennedale-Sublett Road, same also
being a present north boundary line of
the City Limits of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, to its intersection with a present
east boundary line of the City of Kennedale,
same being a present ell corner in the
heretofore existing boundaries of,the City
of Kennedale, Texas;
THENCE north, with the present City Limit
line of the City of Kennedale, Texas,
25 feet, more or less, to the north right-
of-way line of Kennedale-Sublett Road;

way line of said Kennedale Sublett Road
to the point of intersection of said north
right-of-way line with the west boundary
line of the aforesaid 11.7 acre tract,
as hereinafter identified, said point
being 196.5 varas west of the east line
of said W.E. Haltom Survey, Abstract No,
1791;
THENCE north with the west boundary line
of said 11.7 acre tract, as hereinafter
identified, a distance of 338 varas, less
25 feet, to the northwest corner of said
11.7 acre tract in the north line of
said W.E. Haltom Survey;
NCE east along the north line of said
W.E. Haltom Survey, 196.5 varas to the
place of beginning; it being the intention
to here describe all of an 11.7 acre
tract of land identified as Tract Two
in a warranty deed from F.D. Rodgers to
Ruth Rodgers Shaw, dated September 16,
1944, and recorded in Volume 1663,
page 542, Deed Records of Tarrant County,
Texas (and being the 11.7 acre tract
hereinabove referred to in this property
description), together with all of that
portion of Kennedale-Sublett Road abutting
said 11.7 acre tract on the south and
intervening between said 11.7 acre tract
and the heretofore existing City Limits
of the City of Kennedale, Texas.
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of
Kennedale, Texas, as provided by law, at a regular
meeting on this the 4th day of August, 1960, duly and
legally considered the said petition, hearing the argu-
ments for and against such annexation, and it appearing
to the City Council that all statutory requirements in
connection with said application and petition have been
fulfilled and that all of said area, on which less than
three qualified voters reside, is adjacent and contiguous
to the present existing boundaries and limits of the City of
Kennedale, and is not more than one-half mile in width, all
of which the Council so finds; now, therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE,
TEXAS:
Section 1. That the property hereinabove described
lying adjacent and contiguous to the present existing boun-
daries and limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, be, and the
same is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits
and made an integral part of the said City of Kennedale, Texas.
Section 2. That the owners and inhabitants of the
area herein annexed be, and they are hereby declared entitled
to all the rights and privileges of other property owners and
citizens of the said City of Kennedale, Texas, and shall be
bound by all the acts and ordinances of said City of Kennedale
which are now in force and effect, and which may be hereafter
adopted.
Section 3. That the official map and boundaries
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted and
amended, be corrected and amended, so as to include the above
described area and territory as a part of the City of Kennedale,
Texas,
Section 4. That this ordinance shall become effective
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, duly
attested by the City Secretary.

PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
TO THE HONORABLE CITY COTJNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS:
I, the undersigned, Ruth Rodgers, a single woman
(being heretofore Ruth Rodgers Shaw, but having been pre-
viously divorced under a decree restoring to me my maiden
name of Ruth Rodgers), being the only owner of all the
hereinafter described land and territory, hereby petition
the Mayor and City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas,
to institute all proceedings and to adopt all ordinances and
do all things necessary to annex the hereinafter described
land and territory and make the same a part of the City of
Kennedale, Texas, said land and territory being described
by metes and bounds as follows, to -wit:
BEING a part of the W.E. Haltom Survey,
Abstract No. 1791, Tarrant County, Texas,
and also a part of the Kennedale-Sublett
Road, Tarrant County, Texas, and more
particularly described as follows:
BEGINNING at the northeast corner of
W.E. Haltom Survey, Abstract No. 1791,
Tarrant County, Texas, said point being
the northeast corner of the herein des-
cribed tract, and also being the north-
east corner of the Rodgers' 50 acre tract
out of said survey;
THENCE south along the east line of said
Haltom Survey, 338 varas to a point for
corner;
THENCE west along the south line of the
11.7 acre tract, hereinafter identified,
to the center -line of said Kennedale-
Sublett Road;
THENCE south 25 feet, more or less, to the
south line of the Kennedale-Sublett Road;
THENCE westerly along the south line of
the said Kennedale-Sublett Road to its
intersection with the present east boundary
line of the City of Kennedale, Texas;
THENCE north 25 feet, more or less, to
the center line of said Kennedale-Sublett
Road;

a present north boundary line of the City

1663, page 542, of the Deed Records of
Tarrant County, Texas, said point being
196.5 varas west of the east line of said
W.E. Haltom Survey, Abstract No. 1791;

of said 11.7 acre tract a distance of
338 varas, less 25 feet, to the north-
west corner of said tract in the north
line of said Haltom Survey;
THENCE east along the north line of
said Haltom Survey 196.5 varas to
the place of beginning; it being the
intention to here describe all of
the 11.7 acre tract of land identified
as Tract Two in the aforesaid warranty
deed from F.D. Rodgers to Ruth Rodgers
Shaw, dated September 16, 1944, and
recorded in Vol. 1663, page 542, Deed
Records of Tarrant County, Texas,
together with all of that portion of
the Kennedale-Sublett Road abutting
said 11.7 acre tract on the south
and all of the portion of Kennedale-
Sublett Road lying and situated to
the west of said 11.7 acre tract and
east of the present corporate limits
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, which
has not been heretofore annexed to
the City of Kennedale, Texas.
Petitioner would show the said Mayor and City
Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, that the above
described property is contiguous and adjacent to the
present city limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, is
less than one-half mile in width, is not now a part of
any other municipal corporation, and that less than three
qualified voters reside on said land and territory.
