BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED, AND FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE, W ; - AS, pursuant to provisions of Article 974-g, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes of 1925, as amended, Raymond Rufus Swiney and wife, Polly Leodia Swiney, being all of the owners of real property hereinafter described, have made application as by law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, requ'sting annexation to said City of Kennedale of the area situated in the County of Tarrant, State of Texas, more particularly described as follows, to -wit: A tract or parcel of land, being a portion of the DAVID STRICKLAND SURVEY, Abstract No. 1376, in Tarrant County, Texas, to include a portion of the right-of-way of U.S. Highway No. 287, and all that certain tract of approximately ;160 acres conveyed by Walter A. Williams and -wife, Nettie Williams, to Raymond Rufus Swiney and wife, Polly Leodia Swiney, by deed recorded in Vol. 1875, Page 532, Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas, and being 'further described by metes and bounds as follows: r BEGINNING at the Northwest corner of the J. A parcel or tract of property out of the 160 acre tract above described, which said parcel or tract lies ad- jacent to Village Creek, following and lying below the 560 foot elevation line above sea level, which said tract or parcel of land is fully described in a certain Flood Easement, dated October 3, 1956, and executed by Raymond Rufus Swaney and wife, Polly Leodia Swaney, and 0rlaf E. Atchison and wife, Nina D. Atchison, to the City of Arlington, which said Flood Easement is recorded in Vol. 3046, Page 366 of the Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas. 104 WHEREAS, the City Council, as provided by law, at a regular meeting on this the 5th day of May, 1960, the same being more than five and less than thirty days after the filing of the application for annexation with'the City of Kennedale, duly and legally considered the said petition, hearing the arguments for and against such annexation, and it appearing to the City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection with said application and petition have been fulfilled and that all of said area, on which less than three (3) qualified voters reside, is adjacent and conti- guous to the present existing boundaries and limits of the City of Kennedale, and is not more than one-half mile in width, all of which the Council so finds; now, therefore: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS: Section 1. That the property hereinabove described lying adjacent and contiguous to the present existing boundaries and limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, be,and the same is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of the said City of Kennedale, Texas. Section 2. That the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed be, and they are hereby declared entitled to all the rights and privileges of other property owners and citizens of said City of Kennedale, Texas, and shall be bound by all the acts and ordinances of said City of Kennedale which are now in force and effect, and which may be hereafter adopted. Section 3. That the official map and boundaries of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended, be corrected and amended, so as to include the above described area and territory as a part of the City of Kennedale, Texas. PETITION FOR ANNEXATION TO THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS: WE, the undersigned, being all of the owners of the hereinafter described land and territory lying contiguous and adjacent to the existing corporate limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, hereby petition the Mayor. and City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, to institute all proceedings and to adopt all ordinances and do all other things necessary to annex said hereinafter described land and territory and make the same a part of the City of Kennedale, Texas.
