AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY
ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF KENNEDALE,
TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA BE MADE A PART OF
SAID CITY AND THE OWNERS AND INHABITANTS THEREOF
SHALL BE ENTITLED TO ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER
PROPERTY OWNERS AND CITIZENS OF SAID CITY AND
SHALL BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW
IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREAFTER ADOPTED; DESIGNATING
THE ZONING CLASSIFICATION OF SAID ANNEXED AREA;
FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING
THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY AS HERETO-
FORE ADOPTED, AND FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Article 974-g,
Vernon's Texas Revised Civil Statutes of 1925, as amended,
Mrs. Bessie Sloan, a widow, and Sloan Disposal, Inc., a cor-
poration, being all of the owners of any interest in the real
property hereinafter described, have made application as by
law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Kenne-
dale, Texas, requesting annexation to said City of the area
situated in the County of Tarrant, State of Texas, described
as follows, to -wit:
BEING three acres of land, more or less, out of
the E.C. Cannon Survey in Tarrant -County, Texas,
described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING with a point in the north line of
the said E.C. Cannon Survey, 1137 feet west
of the southeast corner of the J.B. Renfro
Survey and being the intersection of the
south line of the present Kennedale City limits
with the west line of the Fort Worth -Mansfield
Road;
THENCE south 42 degrees 15 minutes east with
the west line of said road, 300 feet to an iron
rod for corner;
THENCE south 68 degrees 12 minutes west 418.25
feet to an iron stake in the east line of the
I. & G. N. Railroad right-of-way;
THENCE north 27 degrees 15 minutes west with
said right-of-way line, 425.51 feet to the north
line of the E.C. Cannon Survey, and being in the
south line of the present Kennedale City limits;
THENCE east with the north line of the E.C. Cannon
Survey, 381 feet to the place of beginning.
WHEREAS, the City Council, as provided by law, at a
regular meeting on this the 5th day of April, 1957, duly and
legally considered the said petition, hearing the arguments for
and against such annexation, and duly considered the proper
zoning classification to be assigned to such area, and it ap-
pearing to the City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas,
that all statutory requirements in connection with said appli-
cation and petition have been fulfilled and that all of said
area, on which less than three qualified voters reside, is ad-
jacent and contiguous to the present existing boundaries and
limits of said City of Kennedale, and is not more than one-half
mile in width, and that it would be to the best interest of said
City that the property hereinabove described be assigned a heavy
industrial zoning classification, to permit its use for the
purposes set forth in the petition for annexation of said
land, all of which the Council so finds; now, therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KENNEDALE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the property hereinabove described
lying adjacent and contiguous to the present existing boundaries
and limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, be, and the same
is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and
made an integral part of the said City of Kennedale, Texas.
Section 2. That the owners and inhabitants of the
area herein annexed be, and they are hereby declared entitled
to all the rights and privileges of other property owners and
citizens of said City of Kennedale, and shall be bound by all
the acts and ordinances of said City of Kennedale which are
now in full force and effect and which may be hereafter adopted.
Section 3. That the official map and boundaries of
the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted and amended,
be corrected and amended, so as to include the above described
area and territory as a part of the City of Kennedale, Texas;
Section 4+. That the property herein annexed and
hereinabove described be assigned a zoning classification of
heavy industrial, to permit its use for the purpose of processing
batteries and parts and components thereof, and the smelting,
re -smelting, of lead, antimony and other soft metals, as set
forth in the petition requesting annexation of said land, which
petition is attached to this ordinance.
Section 5. That this ordinance shall become effective
from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, duly
attested by the City Secretary.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 5th day of April, A.D. 1957.

The undersigned, Mrs. Bessie Sloan, a widow, is the owner, and Sloan
Disposal, Inc., a corporation, is the Lessee of the following described
property:
Three (3) acres of land, more or less, out of the E. C. Cannon
Survey in Tarrant County, Texas, described by metes and bounds as follows:
BEGINNING with a point in the North line of the E. C. Cannon Survey,
1137 ft. West of the S. E. corner of the J. B. Renfro Survey, and being
the intersection of the South line of the Kennedale City Limits with the
West line of the Fort Worth -Mansfield Road;

The above described property originally was vacant without residence, but
presently there is being constructed thereon a building to be occupied by
Sloan Disposal, Inc.
Less than three (3) qualified voters reside in or upon said property.
Said property is contiguous and adjacent to the city of Kennedale, having
a population of five thousand (5,000) or less inhabitants according to the
last preceding Federal Census.
The undersigned respectfully request that all of the above described property
be annexed to the City of Kennedale and that this petition, and arguments
for and against the same be heard as expeditiously as possible.
Said above described property will be used for heavy industrial purposes,
including, but not limited to, the processing of batteries and parts and
components thereof; the smelting, re -smelting, of lead, antimony and other
soft metals. In requesting annexation of the above described property, the
undersigned do so upon the express condition that if and when said above

described property is annexed, the use and intended use of said property
will and may continue for heavy industrial purposes and that the improve-
ments presently being erected thereon will be considered as complying with
any present or intended or proposed zoning ordinance, building ordinance,
safety ordinance or other ordinance or regulation of the City of Kennedale.
