O57-01ORDINANCE NO. 57-1 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY OF KENNE- DALE, TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA BE MADE A PART OF SAID CITY AND THAT TIE OWNERS AND INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITT,rD TO ALL THE PRIVIT,FGES OF OTHER PROPERTY OWNERS AND CITIZENS OF SAID CITY AND SHALL BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFJ'J.CT AND TO BE HEREAFTER ADOPTED; FURTHER PROVIDING FOR AMENDING AND CORRECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID CITY AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED, AND FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to provisions of Article 974-g, Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes of 1925, as amended, Raymond Rufus Swiney and wife, Polly Leodia Swiney, being all of the owners of real property hereinafter described, have made appli- cation as by law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, requesting annexation to said City of the area situated in the -County of Tarrant, State of Texas, des- cribed as follows, to -wit: BEING a part of the David Strickland Survey, Abstract No. 1376, Patent No. 50, Volume 13, in Tarrant County, Texas, adjoining the present north boundary line of the corporate limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and more particularly described as follows: BEGIINNING at the northeast corner of the Shelby County ,:School Land, and thence west 50 varas to the center of Village Creek for the beginning corner of this tract, said point being in the present corporate boundary line of the City of Kennedale, Tarrant County, Texas; THENCE with the meanders of said Creek north 622 degrees east 108 varas, north 84 degrees east 199 varas, north 36 degrees east 89 varas, north 63 degrees east 64 varas, north 36 degrees 45 minutes east 80 varas, north 22 degrees 10 minutes east 86 varas, north 32 degrees east 100 varas, north 40 degrees 05 minutes east 139 varas, north 0 degrees 15 minutes east 103 varas, north 18 degrees 05 minutes west 73 varas, north 54 degrees west 221 varas to an iron pipe on creek bank for corner;, THENCE east along fence line 352 varas for corner; •THENCE south 113.4 varas to an iron pipe for corner; THENCE east 3022 varas to an iron pipe set in fence line for corner; THENCE south 7012 varas to stake for corner in the present north boundary line of the corporate limits of the City of Kennedale; THENCE west 1100 varas, more or less, with the present corporate boundary line of the City of Kennedale, Texas, to the place of beginning; and containing 121 acres of land, more or less; it being the intention to in- clude herein all of the property now owned by the petitioners, Raymond Rufus Swiney and wife, Polly Leodia Swiney, in the said David Strickland Survey and adjoining the present corporate limits of the said City of Kennedale, Texas. WHEREAS, the City Council, as provided by law, at a regular meeting on the lst day of March, 1957, duly and legally considered the said petition, hearing the arguments for and against slah annexation, and it appearing to the City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, that all statutory requirements in connection with said application and petition have been ful- filled and that all of said area, on which not more than three aualified voters reside, is adjacent and contiguous to the present existing boundaries and limits of said City, and is not more than one-half mile in width, all of which the Council so finds; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDATF,, TEXAS: Section 1. That the property hereinabove described lying adjacent and contiguous to the present existing boundaries and limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, be, and the same is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of the said City of Kennedale, Texas. Section 2. That the owners and inhabitants of the area herein annexed be, and they are hereby declared entitled to all the rights and privileges of other property owners and citizens of said City of Kennedale, and shall be bound by all the acts and ordinances of said City of Kennedale which are now in full force and effect and which may be hereafter adopted. Section 3. That the official map and _boundaries of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore -ad -Opted and amended, be corrected and amended, so as to include the above described area and territory as a part of the City of Kennedale, Texas. Section 4. That this ordinance -shall become effective from and after its passage and approval by the Mayor, duly attested by the City Secretary: ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 1st day of March, A.D. 1957.
