O29ORDINANCE NO. 29 AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING THE HEREIN DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF KENNEDALE,.TEXAS; PROVIDING THAT SUCH AREA SHALL BE A PART OF SAID CITY AND THAT '1'!1E OWNERS AND INHABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER CITIZENS_ OF SAID. CITY. AND SHALL BE, BOUND BY. THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES NOW IN EFFECT AND TO BE HEREAFTER ADOPTED; AMENDING AND CORRECTING_ THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF THE CITY AS HERETOFORE. ADOPTED; AND PROVIDING AN. EFFECTIVE. DATE. WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 974, Texas Revised Civil Statutes of 1925, as amended, a majority of the inhabitants of the territory hereinafter described who are qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature have voted in favor of said territory becoming a__part of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and three (3) of such voters have made an affidavit to such fact and filed the same with the Mayor of the City of Kennedale, who has certified the same to the City Council of said. City; and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as provided by law, has duly and legally considered the same, and it appearing to the Council that all statutory requirements in connection with said affidavit and the annexation of said herein- after described territory have been fulfilled, that an election was in fact held as recited in said affidavit,that a majority of the inhabitants of said territory qualified to vote for members of the State Legislature have voted in favor of annexation, that said territory is adjacent to the present boundaries of the City of Kennedale and is not more than one-half mile in width, and that it will be to the best interest of the City of Kennedale to annex the same, all of which the City Council so finds; now, therefore, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS: Section One. That the hereinafter described territory, lying adjacent to the existing boundaries of the City of Kennedale, Texas, be, and the same is hereby annexed and brought within the corporate limits and made an integral part of the City of Kennedale, Texas, said land and territory being described as follows: BEING property adjoining the City of Kennedale, Tarrant County, Texas, located in the J. M. Lilly and T. F. Rogers Surveys and more particular r described as follows, to -wit: BEGINNING at the northeast corner of the C. Rose Survey, Abstract No. 1285, the same being the northwest corner of the J.M. Lilly Survey, Abstract No. 980 and also being a northeast corner of the present city limits of the City of Kenne- dale, Texas; `THENCE east with the north line of said. J.M. Lilly Survey to the northeast corner of said J.M. Lilly Survey, the same being a point in the west line of the T.F. Rogers Survey, Abstract No. 1363; THENCE north with the west line of the said T.F. Rogers Survey to the northwest corner of aid Rogers Survey; TENCE east with the north line of said T.F. Rogers Survey to a point in the said north line 442 feet west of the northeast corner of said Rogers Survey; THENCE south on a line parallel to the east line of the said T.F. Rogers Survey 2,638.8 feet to a point in the south line of said T.F. Rogers Survey, said point being 442 feet west of the southeast corner of said Rogers Survey; THRNCE west with the south line of the said T.F. Rogers Survey to a northeast corner of the present city limits of the City of Kenne- dale, Texas, in the south line of said Rogers Survey, sail point being 300 yards east of the northwest corner of the W.E. Haltom Survey, Abstract No. 1791; THENCE starting in a westerly direction and following the present boundary line of the City of Kennedale, Texas (with all the turns and meanders of said present City of Kenne- dale boundary line as follows: West 900 feet along the south line of said Rogers Survey to the northwest corner of the W.E. Haltom Survey, continuing west 152.8 feet to a_point in the south line of said Rogers Survey for corner; Thence south to the northeast corner of the J.B. Renfro Survey, Abstract No. 1260, same being an ell corner of the J.M. Lilly Survey, Abstract No. 980; Thence west with the north line of said Renfro Survey and south line of said Lilly Survey to the northwest corner of said J.M...Lilly Survey, same being a southeast corner of the C, Rose Survey, Abstract No. 1285; Thence north with the west line of said J.M. Lilly.Survey, the same being the east line of said C. Rose Survey, to the northeast corner of said Rose Survey) to the place of beginning. Section Two. That the owners and inhabitants of the area hereinabove described and annexed shall be entitled to all the rights and privileges of other owners and citizens of the City of Kennedale and shall be bound by all the acts and or- dinances of the City of Kennedale now in full force and effect and that may be hereafter adopted. Section Three. That the official map and boundaries of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as heretofore adopted, be, and the same are hereby corrected and amended so as to include the hereinabove described territory as a part of the City of Kenne- dale, Texas. Section Four. This ordinance shall become effective immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor, duly attested by the City Secretary.
