AN ORDINANCE RECEIVING AND ANNEXING
TERRITORY ADJACENT AND CONTIGUOUS TO
THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS; PROVID-
ING THAT SUCH AREA BE MADE A PART OF
SAID CITY AND THAT THE OWNERS AND IN-
HABITANTS THEREOF SHALL BE ENTITLED TO
ALL THE PRIVILEGES OF OTHER PROPERTY
OWNERS AND CITIZENS OF SAID CITY AND
SHALL BE BOUND BY THE ACTS AND ORDINANCES
NOW IN EFFECT AED TO BE HEREAFTER ADOPTED;
FURTHER PROVIDING FOR. AMENDING AND COR-
RECTING THE OFFICIAL BOUNDARIES OF SAID
CITY AS HERETOFORE ADOPTED, AND FOR AN
EFFECTIVE DATE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of Article 974-G,
Vernon's Texas Civil Statutes of 1925, as amended, Donald
T. Lyon and wife, Dolores Joan Lyon, and 0. V. Gillis and
wife, Lelia Gillis, being all of the owners of real pro-
perty hereinafter described, have made application as by
law provided to the Mayor and City Council of the City of
Kennedale, Texas, requesting annexation to said City of
the area situated in the County of Tarrant, State of Texas,
described as follows:
Being in the W._E. Haltom Survey,
Abstract No. 1791, in Tarrant County,
Texas, adjoining the present city
limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas,
and more particularly described as
follows:
Beginning at a point in the center line of
the Kennedale-Sublett Road 1012.9 feet East
of the East boundary line of the J. M. Lilly
Survey, said point being the Northeast corner
of a tract of land annexed to the City of
Kennedale, Texas, by Kennedale Ordinance No. 25
adopted on June 8, 1956, which ordinance, in-
cluding a description of said tract, is re-
corded in Volume 3002, at Page 83 of the
Deed Records of Tarrant County, Texas;
Thence in an easterly direction with the
center line of the said Kennedale-Sublett
Road 303.7 feet to a point for corner;
Thence in a southerly direction and at a
right angle to (that is, perpendicular to) the
center line of the Kennedale-Sublett Road a
distance of 900 feet to a point for corner;
Thence in a westerly direction parallel to and
at a distance of 900 feet from the center line
of the said Kennedale-Sublett Road a distance
of 303.7 feet to a point for corner, the same
being the Southeast corner of the tract hereto-
fore annexed to the City of Kennedale by the
said Kennedale Ordinance No. 25;
Thence in a northerly direction along the
present East boundary line of the city limits
of Kennedale, the same being the East boundary
line of the tract annexed to Kennedale by the
said Kennedale Ordinance No. 25, a distance of
900 feet to the point of beginning.
WHEREAS, the City Council, as provided by law, at
a regular meeting on the 7th day of September, 1956, duly
and legally considered the said petition, hearing the ar-
guments for and against such annexation, and it appearing
to the City Council of the City of Kennedale, Texas, that
all statutory requirements in connection with said appli-
cation and petition have been fulfulled and that all of
said area, on which not more than three (3) qualified
voters reside, is adjacent and contiguous to the present
existing boundaries and limits of said City, and is not
more than one-half (2) mile in width, which the City
Council so finds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF KENNEDA LE, TEXAS:
Section 1. That the property hereinabove described
lying adjacent and contiguous to the present existing
boundaries and limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, be,
and the same is hereby annexed and brought within the cor-
porate limits and made an integral part of thesaid City of
Kennedale, Texas.
Section 2. That the owners and inhabitants of the
area herein annexed be, and they are hereby declared en-
titled to all the rights and privileges of other property
owners and citizens of said City of Kennedale, and shall
be bound by all the acts and ordinances of said City of
Kennedale which are now in full force and effect and which
may be hereafter adopted.
Section 3. That the official map and boundaries
of the City of Kennedale, Texas, as hereirtbefore adopted and
amended, be corrected and amended, so as to include the
above described area and territory as a part of the City of
Kennedale, Texas.
Section 4. That this ordinance shall become ef-
fective from and after its passage and approval by the
Mayor, duly attested by the City Secretary.
ADOPTED AND APPROVED this 5th day of October, A.D.
1956.

mously adopted by the City Council of the City of Kennedale,
Texas, at a regular meeting held at the Kennedale City Hall
on the 5th day of October, 1956, at which meeting a quorum

ing.

PETITION FOR ANNEXATION
TO THE HONORABLE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF KENNEDALE, TEXAS:
We, the undersigned owners of the hereinafter described
land or territory, hereby petition the Mayor and City Council of
the City of Kennedale, Texas, to institute all proceedings and
to adopt all ordinances and do all other things necessary to
annex said hereinafter described land and territory and make the
same a part of the City of Kennedale, Texas, said land and terri-
tory being described by metes and bounds as follows, to -wit:
Being in the W. E. Haltom Survey, Abstract No. 1791,
in Tarrant County, Texas, adjoining the present city
limits of the City of Kennedale, Texas, and more

Texas, and is less than one-half mile in width.
