AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE APPOINTMENT
OF A RECORDER TO FILL TEE VACANCY FOR THE
UN -EXPIRED TERM OF THE MAYOR AS EH-OFFICIO
RECORDER OF THE CORPORATION COURT OF KENNE
DALE, AND AUTHORIZING THE FILLING OF SAID
OFFICE BY APPOINTMENT, EATER THAN BY ET7CTION,
AT THE EXPIATION OF THE PR -SENT MAYOR'S
TERN OF OFFICE.
vH=AS, the Mayor of the City of Kennedale, Texas,
has resigned his ex-officio office as Recorder of the Corporation
Court and whereas, it is the desire of the City Council of the
City of Kennedale to fill said vacancy by appointment and
HEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council to abolish
the elective office of Recorder of the Corporation Court, and to
provide that such office shall hereafter be separate from the of-
fice of Mayor and shall be filled by appointment; now, therefore,
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
KENNEDAT, TEXAS:
Section 1. That is
hereby appointed to the office of Rec e , or City Judge, of
the Corporation Court of the City of Kennedale, Texas, for the
unexpired term of office of the present Mayor.
Section 2. That the office of Recorder or Judge of
the Corporation Court shall, at the expiration of the term of
office of the present Mayor, be a separate office from that o
Mayor and shall be filled by appointment by the City Council,
rather than by election.
Section 3. Any person appointed to the office of
Recorder or Judge of the Corporation Court shall be subject to
removal only for cause during his term of office. The term of
appointment shall be for two (2) years, and shall coincide T,Itn
the term of office o: Mayor of the City of Kennedale.
